On Monday February 26, CBA Canada took part in the National Cupcake Day for SPCAs & Humane Societies and raised over $400 for our furry friends up the street. Special thanks are due indeed to CBA Alumni Margot Culkin, who baked cupcakes honour of her late mother Shirley McKnight.
Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society’s Facebook page has a post about Shirley:
Six years ago, Shirley McKnight, already in her 80s, started something incredible. With the help of her girls, she began selling cupcakes for National Cupcake Day for SPCAs & Humane Societies. Each year, hundreds of beautifully decorated cupcakes have been sold over at CBA Canada while raising much needed funds and awareness for the animals in our care.
Ms. McKnight passed away in 2017 but has left us with a wonderful legacy that her children continue to celebrate. In memory of their mother, they have raised hundreds of dollars for this year’s campaign and we simply cannot thank them enough! She would be so pleased indeed! #InMemory#KWAwesome #CupcakestotheRescue
